WHY CHOOSE CHARMELLE LONDON?

Charmelle London strives for the very best levels of client satisfaction and has invested in the very latest equipment available, we use the highest quality products and have over 10 years experience in the beauty industry using the latest techniques.

WHAT IS SEMI-PERMANENT MAKEUP?

It is a form of tattooing which fades over time because it is applied with a shallower depth than permanent tattoos. This is why it is described as ‘semi-permanent’. The technique has been in use for many years and is considered very safe. In recent years new techniques and products have been introduced which deliver a more natural and predictable result.

When choosing a semi-permanent makeup technician it is critical to find a technician that has a high level of artistic ability, precise techniques and an excellent eye for colour. This is something you can be confident of at Charmelle London. Our technicians at Charmelle London will mix the correct combinations of colour product to ensure that you have a wide choice of shades to perfectly match your requirements. The colour products selected are hypoallergenic, vegan, highly stable and long-lasting.

WHAT HAPPENS ONCE I'VE BOOKED?

Once an appointment has been booked you will be emailed a consultation and consent form which is to be completed and submitted at least 48 hours before your treatment. You will also be sent a patch test in the post which must be done at least 48 hours before your appointment.

If you prefer, you can book a 30 minutes consultation including patch test in the clinic at a cost of £30 which will be deducted from the treatment price.

HOW LONG WILL MY SEMI-PERMANENT MAKEUP LAST?

Most clients will find that once the treatment and aftercare have been successfully undertaken that the colour will gradually fade over 1-3 years. Top-up treatments are recommended every 12-18 months to ensure your makeup stays fresh and defined.

HOW DO I REMOVE MY SEMI PERMANENT MAKE UP?

Your semi-permanent makeup treatment can only be removed with laser treatment/s and this is also a service we offer in the clinic, the other option is to wait for the colour to fade which can take 1-4 years.

IS IT PAINFUL?

It is always our aim to make our clients feel comfortable throughout the duration of their treatment by identifying if the treatment is suitable for them and ensuring their expectation are well aligned before treatment.

Treatments take place within a calming environment and a topical anaesthetic cream will be used. Most clients feel no pain at all or describe a scratch like feeling. Lip treatments can be more sensitive than other areas due to the number of nerve endings but overall most clients have no complaint of pain.

We advise that women avoid treatment around the time of their menstrual cycle as they tend to be more sensitive during this period.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE BROW TREATMENTS?

Microblading - A fine micro-blade is manually used to etch lines into the skin that flow in the same direction as your own hairs. This treatment is ideal for clients who want a natural and soft effect with the pigment being placed into a higher layer of the skin. This method is not always ideal for clients with an oily skin type or clients that have the darker skin tone, for these clients I recommend using the IndelibeLiner™ device which eliminates these concerns.

3D Hairstrokes Brows (with the device) - The IndelibeLiner™ device is used to draw individual hairs strokes into the skin under ultra-precise magnification, weaving microscopic simulated hair strokes among your natural ones in a bespoke pigment blend to lift and define the brows. This method is suitable for all skin types and tends to last longer than the manual microblade method due to the pigment being placed deeper into the skin. Whether your eyebrows have thinned with age, are overplucked, are very fair or you simply want to improve their shape and look and already have a lot of natural hair, the 3D brow stroke method is a great option to achieve your desired look.

Ombré Brows - This look is achieved by creating a gradient colour from dark to light, the colour can be very light and natural or dramatic and defined and this decision is based on the clients needs and preference. This treatment is very popular with clients looking for a flawless statement look.

WHAT IS THE LIP BLUSH TREATMENT?

The Lip Blush Contour treatment involves contouring & adding colour to achieve a more defined balanced shape. Using Tracie Giles unique "Gloss & Go™" Permanent Makeup, all that's left to do is add a lick of gloss...and go!

WHAT IS A LASH ENHANCEMENT?

Permanent eyeliner and lash enhancing are perfect for framing the eyes and magnifies the shape. This treatment provides a smudge-proof, precise "liquid-liner-look" with thicker, darker lashes saving valuable time every day.

AM I ABLE TO SEE THE SHAPE BEFORE THE TREATMENT?

During your consultation we will work with you to identify your requirements in terms of shape, definition and colour, the brow shape will be drawn on just as it will look for the client's approval before the treatment commences. We take a very conscientious approach with all treatments and will only proceed if 100% satisfied that the client is happy.

SHOULD I GET MY EYEBROWS SHAPED BEFORE THE TREATMENT?

There is no need to shape your eyebrows before your appointment, we will create a shape that suits your facial structure in the clinic, However, if you do decide to shape your brow beforehand please allow 48 hours to pass before you come to the clinic. Following the treatment, your brow hair will grow as normal and it is then your responsibility to maintain the shape of your brows by threading, plucking or waxing between appointments. It is recommended to wait at least 3-4 weeks to wax following your treatment.

CAN I TINT MY EYEBROWS AND LASHES BEFORE AND AFTER THE TREATMENT?

Yes, however please allow a week to pass before coming in for your treatment after tinting and it is recommended to wait 3-4 weeks following your treatment to allow the skin time to heal.

CAN YOU RETOUCH WORK DONE ELSEWHERE?

A consultation will determine if its suitable to retouch work done elsewhere although we cannot retouch work done elsewhere at our retouch prices, these prices are for existing clients only. We are very particular and perfectionists when it comes to our craft and therefore in some cases, we advise that client wait for the treatment to fade before we work together to create a bespoke look.

CAN I BRING FAMILY AND FRIENDS TO MY APPOINTMENT?

Due to the level of concentration, skill and hygiene required, unfortunately, we are unable to allow family and friends to be present during the treatment process. However, if you wish to bring someone they are welcome to sit in the waiting area or enjoy the surrounding shops and cafes while they wait.

WILL MY SKINCARE PRODUCTS AFFECT MY TREATMENT?

Yes. Check your skincare products for the following listed ingredients: AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acids), BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acids), Vitamin C and Retinol. You must not use these products during the healing process. The active ingredients increase exfoliation and skin cell regeneration. These ingredients are highly likely to affect the pigment healing and holding correctly. Once healed, you may resume using the products but not on the treated area/s.

CAN I SUNBATHE AND USE SUN BEDS BEFORE AND AFTER MY TREATMENT?

Please avoid unprotected sun exposure and sunbeds before and after the treatment. Sunbeds should be avoided for 7 days before and after your treatment. After the area has healed, it is vital to use sunscreen with at least SPF 30, as exposure to the sun over time can cause fading and discolouration of the pigment.

Charmelle London is the ultimate spot for all of your aesthetic and beauty needs. From dermal fillers, advanced aesthetic facials to semi-permanent makeup and traditional beauty services we have all of your needs covered! What are lip fillers? Dermal fillers are made of Hyaluronic Acid (or HA), a substance that’s found naturally in the body. HA is a useful beauty ingredient because it’s able to hold up to 1,000 times its own weight in water.

Because HA is something that our body produces albeit it in lesser quantities as we age it’s happily accepted, and once injected into the skin it’s easily broken down over a period of months. It’s far from permanent; which in itself is reassuring. And it’s not only used in the lips; it can plump out wrinkles, restore volume to cheeks and remove those vertical lines at the side of your mouth. How is injectable lip fillers used? Fillers are typically used to increase the volume and size of the lips. We use brands such as Juvederm, Revolax and Restylane Which are all hyaluronic acid-based and popular injectable fillers. Hyaluronic acid works by both plumping but also holding water within the lip for a more natural effect.

How long does lip fillers typically last? It is dependent on factors such as the age of the patient and the brand used however top-ups are typically required every four-to-six months to keep the desired result.” What can you expect to happen during a procedure? Firstly the practitioner will examine your lips during the consultation and you will discuss the treatment plan to achieve the desired results. The lips are then numbed using a topical anaesthetic before injecting the chosen dermal filler into the boarders, upper and lower lip. With lip augmentation, the aim is to always maintain a natural appearance.

The term “dermal fillers” encompasses a wide range of products, and is an expression which describes treatment that restores volume and structure to the face.

Dermal fillers work to smooth fine lines and wrinkles, crepey skin and give a more youthful look. The high levels of HA (hyaluronic acid) have the effect of attracting and retaining water, instantly improving the skin’s appearance and texture by restoring its natural plumpness.

Due to extensive clinical research and progression in the industry, at Charmelle London we use HA fillers; a natural ingredient that is found in the body, but diminishes as we age. They are a popular means of restoring volume to the facial structure, creating a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance.

We use a new generation of facial fillers; the Juvéderm range from Allergan, world leaders in surgical and non-surgical aesthetic products. These temporary fillers create subtle enhancements by filling hollows and deep lines to smooth them out for a more youthful appearance.

Juvéderm’s advanced products contain Lidocaine, a local anaesthetic, to help numb the area while simultaneously administering the treatment. This has been proven to improve patients’ experience by reducing any possible discomfort within a matter of minutes, while the treatment itself can take anywhere up to an hour depending on the desired effect and patient.
